FG supports vulnerable children and young adults through ARC-P
The Federal Government of Nigeria reaffirms its pledge to lift 100 million Nigerians out of poverty as it commences the implementation of the At-Risk Children Project (ARC-P) through the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Social Investments (OSAP-SI).
As part of strategies under the National Poverty Reduction with Growth Strategy (NPRGS) recommended by the Presidential Economic Advisory Council (PEAC), ARC-P is aimed at addressing cross-cutting concerns of millions of vulnerable children and young adults, while creating opportunities for skills and empowerment to reduce their vulnerabilities.
Following scoping missions by the ARC-P team led by the Special Adviser, Gombe State officially launched ARC-P at the state level in June, 2021. This was preceded by the signing of an MoU between the State and the OSAP-SI in March, 2021.
The At-Risk Children Project (ARC-P) is facilitated by the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Social Investments, in partnership with both National and International Developmental Partners, as well as Private Organizations. It reports directly to the National Steering Committee of the National Poverty Reduction with Growth Strategy (NPRGS), chaired by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
